I'm going to get a new Combi Boiler fitted under a government scheme, but the installer has advised me I need to change the shower cartridge otherwise my shower wont work (to change cartridge from a gravity fed tank to mains water).
My shower is a Mira 88, is it simply a matter of swapping the cartridge over and could you advise what the difference would be between the two cartridges (the installer did say it may work but probably wouldn't work properly - and they offer no help with this).
I will probably renovate the entire bathroom in the next year so only wanted something to tide me over until then (if possible).
Thanks

I keep reading about this new boiler of yours, must be rather exciting for you...?

The installer has recommended a high pressure cartridge, the low pressure one may not be designed for a high pressure combi & could leak!

There may be a government grant available that could allow you to get a free cartridge upgrade...

The Mira 88 doesn't have a cartridge. it's a manual mixer.

Thanks for the advice around what the Cartridge types (low / high pressure) are and informing me that the shower I have doesn't have a cartridge. I assume this means the shower will not need any amendments then? Sorry for the three posts, but want to get everything right and get the most reliable system I can get.
