Hi, I'm new to this forum but was wondering if anyone could help?

I want to move the gas supply from my hob, from one wall of the kitchen to the next wall (perpendicular as in an "L" shape). There is a doorway beside the current hob so the new pipework would have to pass the doorway but it would be closer to the centre of the room.

Does anyone know what the regulations are regarding moving gas pipework and if there is a specific depth that the pipes need to be below floor level? It is a concrete floor.

Thanks.

it is not a job for diy, a GSR engineer should know these details and carry out works necessary

Well, as a young lady with no gas experience I wasn't expecting to do a DIY job! I was just wondering about the basics of it so that I can have an idea of cost, how much mess it will make, length of time it might take... And also I'm wondering whether or not it's worth the hassle or if I should just put up with the lack of space in my kitchen.

Thanks for your reply though!

there are some guys on this forum from the glasgow area, maybe they do free estimates and can give you a quote and talk you through the details and cost up the job with no obligation
perhaps post it in the i need a plumber section to get a response :)
