Quick one guys and gals, I've got to go fit a mira minilite mixer shower today in a new house, it's just been bought ) and it was to late for the spec to be changed so owners want me put a shower in over bath. But apparently the bath water isn't as hot as all other outlets, they say there is a valve on the taps under the bath, is it a reg to have a blending valve under baths on new builds. Can only think it's either a pressure reducing valve ( why would that be there? ) or a blending/mixing valve? Thoughts?

It will be a blending valve, it is now a regulation to have them fitted on new installs (not sure if they are required on new installs in existing properties but I don't really do bathrooms) for the shower you can take the hot off before the mixing valve I would of thought as they are there to prevent people from falling into a scalding hot bath.

Thanks millsy 82, you were spot on. I did however remove the mixer valve as customer insisted, in fact he said if you don't I will! Been having cold baths apparently. Did point out it was probably just adjusted wring or something but he wasn't having it! Thanks for the info, very much appreciated
