Hi, ive just moved into my new flat (2 bedrrom, ground floor) and any time the boiler is turned on, the radiators go on. The only way to turn off the radiators is to turn off the boiler. Is the boiler set to Automatic? is there a way to set it to manual? no matter what i set the thermostat at, the radiators heat up. It is a Dual heat DH 9U model. The only switch i can find is a 'winter/summer' Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Hi, These are an electric Thermal Store system.

Normally there will be a time controller for your heating, and a Room thermostat to set the room temperature. First thing to check is that the time control isn't set to constant and the room thermostat isn't cranked up high. This will bring the heating on every time the power to the unit is on.

If you've checked these and its fine, it's time to get a heating engineer in who understands electrics, controls and fault finding. The issue you describe could be one of a few things.

If you put your location up in the 'Looking for a plumber' section of this site, maybe a local member can help you out

Cheers

Where would the time controller be? I have the option of room temperature adjust and time for the radiators to come on and off on my thermostat. Should there be another switch for the the boiler to activate the thermostat?

Hi, it has been set to summer the whole time I have been here, is there a way to fix this problem?
