Try offering for free labour just to get expereience, you never know they might start paying you!

Hi Baz,welcome to the forum, hope you get sorted out

Maybe you could offer double club points

😀😀😉

lol puddle double points..and yh i have thought about offering free labour..ill make a start on that tomoz..fingers crossed lol..cheers guys

hi daz,m call your local plumbers in the local paper, explain what course youre doing, hopefully 6129 CG ? - and yes, give them sensible, hastle free help, for nothing, theyll probably drop you a small drink - if youre dynamic, and thoughtful, and keen, i think if you are given the opportunity, things will develop for you ---good luck mate, keep going and stay commited . . but when your own work starts coming, please get insured, let me know - cheers moore

thanks moore and yes ill let you know how i get on..thanks guys 😀

Do plumbing work around the house to get you into the swing, Take a few radiators off and replace them, change a ball valve in the wc etc...

Hi Daz, who are you doing your home plumbing course with.
As Joe brown said, i play about with my home plumbing a lot, have taken my radiators off and on many times, fitted a new bathroom suite etc, all good practice. Good luck.

hi guys..yh i can understand where your coming from..i mean my brother moved into a flat last year and since hes been there ive, fitted 2 new taps in the kitchen as old ones were shot to bits, bled the radiators, and fixed the water hammer that was happening, i mean the plumbing in my house is solid no problems at all..so i dont rly wanna be playing with it if its ok..im doing my course with trade 4 train skills..there is a couple of bits i can do around the house, but could of done them before starting this course really

cheers guys

Take your Plumbing apart for practise!!! No way!

Try looking for a local charity that you can do work for.
I must admit though I am one of the old school Plumbers brought up to date, but now retired.
When I was working the last thing I wanted to do was home Plumbing I did not have to do.

One of the things I would practise though is soldering. Try putting the pipe in all kinds of positions and soldering it , even on a stone floor so the heat partly draws out.

Then in between two pieces of wood and try to solder a joint without scorching the wood.

Try soldering above your head.

Place the pipe in as many awkward places as you can.

Learn heat control, learn not to let the solder run all over the place.

All good practise for what you will probably meet in reality.
