Why do the holidays seem to give the other half ideas for DIY... Not that I mind, in fact I love to do my own jobs, so here goes. Old house 1/2 pipe hopefully (very brown looking) and I have a new sink and toilet to fit. Still on the old copper tank, so after I turn off the water and drained the tank I was going to fit 1/2 to 15mm female coupling then add isolating valves to them thus allowing the new items to be installed. Looking at compression fixings too. All sounds good in my head but wanted to ask professional advice. Cheers and Happy Christmas to those still working.

wait till the hols are over and there are plumbers working before you start is my advice at present.

+1 with waiting.
if it's 1/2" barrel make sure you hold against or face unscrewing more then you wanted!?

Cheer, I think I might wait as I cannot find the  stopcock, shame as I love doing my own stuff.
Did look at push fit too vs compression.
Happy New Year and thanks for the replies :)
