Dam, I thought it was the clips screwed into the CWSC to hold the 22mm in place. & why did they make it so difficult for themselves by using comp gate valve when there are push if versions.

Cheaper

So i have been searching the forum for ways to connect copper to overflow and some say JG speedfit. Others recommend irons to overflow and irons to copper. Another recommends compression coupler with imperial olive on overflow.

If JG works I would have thought the hep would have.

It should seal as it's 21. Something mm

I've put 22mm into plastic screened overflow tank connectors before now (only way I know of if you're using a Bylaw 30 kit). It was tight but, being on gravity only, it sealed okay.

Logically the 3/4" olive approach (wrapped in PTFE), much as you'd connect to 1/2" alkathene, should work, but I would worry about the lack of pipe insert. That said, rigid pipe won't be out of round...
