Hi everyone
Can anyone advise I have a tenant with a combi boiler and she keeps putting it up to 2 bar because there was a leak on the radiator valve, which I have now replaced. Would this cause it to blow out through the PRV. I now told her to set it to one bar. It is a Ferroli Modena 80E boiler.
Can anyone help.
Thanks
Martin

Hello nitram, welcome aboard www.UKPlumbersForums.co.uk. Stick around, I'm sure you'll like the place. :)

its possible if she puts it up to 2 bar when the system is cold tell the daft c#w to leave it alone!!

How much a system expands depends on the amount of water in the system as regards the size of the expansion vessel and the expansion vessel on the modena was minimal
If prv dripping, maybe expansion needs a little re prime and 1 bar pressue is fine for both, touble is tenants think if they top it up more pressure lasts longer, but if you have repaired leak and they see it is holding anyway :)

They should be ok, after maybe 4 or 5 weeks, it will sink in they only have to top up to 1 bar occasionally but until then :(
