no cold water to bathroom

why is there no cold water to the sink ,bath .tried the water tank in the attic but still nothing?down stairs is fine and the hot water in the bathroom it,s just the cold water too the bathroom ,sink,bath and cistern there is no water feed apart from the cistern take,s 1/2hour to fill the hot water is fine and the shower its the cold .I,v checked all the taps from the water tank and there is no lime scale just abit of rust so thinking it,s a block in the pipe?

Is the cold water to the bathroom tank fed?

Is there cold water in the kitchen?

If the answer to both questions is no check with your neighbours to see if they have water. It's possibly a mains problem.


What did you check at the tank in the attic?

How many tanks do you have in the attic?

Presumably there's water in the tank?

Might seem a stupid question, but we do have to start with basics to eliminate possible problems.

Assuming there is water, near the bottom will be a hole (with a pipe attached). Is this totally clear of debris?

Have you tried opening a tap in the bathroom then go to attic with a hose,place hose down the supply pipe and blow through to see if this clears it

there is isolators but checked them and there no ploblems

I've seen cheap ISO's where the inner workings have detatched from the screwdriver slotted part. Had one customer who didn't get hot water in kitchen only on Saturday mornings. Took me an age to work out it was a broken ISO stuck almost closed but the screw indicated it was fully open.

Was it fitted the correct way round?

Is it faulty?

If you close the tap, remove the pipe after it, then turn it on, it might reveal the problem.

Aaaah, you didn't mention a new tap. If the problem started after this was fitted it is a pretty safe bet that this is the problem.
