Hi got up this morning click on heating ! 30min later thinking still feels cold, feel rads , stone cold, check boiler , flashing ER, reset same thing, try cooker , no gas, think s--t faulty governor try test point on meter nothing, ring Transco, 2hrs later out pops engineer, 20th call this morning, no gas in a 2 sq mile radius, water getting into gas line somewhere closing down local network, great no dinner ! don't know when it will be back on , What a great start to Christmas, Still better than the poor devil's who have been flooded out.

I've heard of meter pits flooding and setting off the slam shut devices?

It's not uncommon to get water in the mains giving low pressure.

If your pipe work or meter in a basement get a GSR to check it all and bill transco , makes a mess of your gas valve !

do an lpg conversion for the day, dont you keep all those cooker nozzles and have a valve on the van, whip out the old propane burner bottle fm the shed?

Keep gas bottles in the basement so they don't float away. ;)
