Hi - I'm new to this forum...just registered as I need to upgrade my old heating system. A current problem I have is no hot water. I have an old Glow Worm boiler ...indirect vented system with no motorised valves and no thermostat on the hot water cylinder. The cylinder does not heat the water up even though the radiators get hot - I have felt the top indirect feed - red hot! but the bottom feed is cold/luke warm - is this likely to be a blockage or an air lock? Any thoughts appreciated ...thanks - Neal

Hi all - thanks for all the help guys. I have decided that my problem is either an air lock in the primary cct or a blockage (sludge) so I will try the old faithful trick of a hose pipe in the vent pipe and flush it through. If that doesn't do the trick I will change out the cylinder. All the best -

found problem.... heating cct header tank empty and ball-cock stuck in the horizontal position!!! Freed the ball-cock off...filled tank up and pushed air out with hose pipe....... hey presto...hot water :8:
