Hi,
I have a Potterton Flamingo 2 boiler which has been serviced annually, and a hot water tank in the kitchen. The control panel where I set hot water and heating timings is a Honeywell ST9400C.
Having had the heating turned off all summer I am now experiencing 'drop outs' where the heating works fine but the hot water is only lukewarm. This occurs randomly, but usually in the morning, when I have the heating and hot water set to come on at the same time. To get hot water I have to turn the heating and hot water off and then just turn the hot water on.
I had the boiler serviced yesterday and the guy thought it might be a faulty hot water cylinder valve motor - he described it to me as the part that dictates where hot water flows from the boiler into the heating/hot water tank or both.
He replaced the motor but this morning I've still got the same problem.
Any ideas on what else could be causing this? It's only happening after turning the heating back on to auto and has not happened in the past couple of years since I've had the boiler or the Honeywell control panel.
Kind regards
James
