I have fitted load of these round my way in the past couple of weeks 100% cure for the annual problem of freezing.

Can be a bit fiddly to seal where the flex enters. I found using a tee piece with a ip67 cord grip all solvent weld together perfect

wonder if it would work on cast iron?went out to one last night frozen solid from base to first floor toilet(cold or what).
 
I buy them from a refrigeration wholesalers. We have used this method for years on evaporator drain lines in freezer rooms as cold as -25 degrees C
