We have a Glow worm 30ci combi-boiler and an electric shower running straight off the mains. We have just about got adquate pressure to run the boiler but not the shower. The flow rate is awfull. We have no other heating equipment other than the boiler.
Will a cold water tank feeding the electric shower cure that and can I install a cold tank feeding the boiler to improve the flow rate?? I would like a thermostatic mixer shower?

How can I improve this situation?? any ideas are most welcome.

would not attending to the incomming cold main sort this out?
what is the local area like for pressure?
Is the incomming blocked? you cannot run a combi off a tank or a lecky shower off a tank you would need a complete new style of system (traditional) to have tanks, even this would need the tanks as high as possible to give any great amont of flow that might only be what you are getting now if your house was designed for a combi, things like hot supply to bath etc would be undersized for traditional system take care to make the right choice

I was informed by the water board that the clever council put in steel pipes when they built the houses. these are rusting up inside and restricting the flow and pressure. The fact we are last on a three house supply also dont help. To address the situation I have been told I would need to pay for a new main to be brought across the road (£900!!!) as the stopcock is 30m away at the other end of the row of houses and the existing supply runs around the back of the houses.
