ok, this is a basic two storey house with hw cylinder on ground floo, pump is located out in the boiler house on the return pipe, working perfectly though with a setting of 3..
heating is working well downstairs but not a glimer of heat upstairs, no motorised or any valve on system at all... tried turning downstairs off , tried bleeding, balancing ,flushing, everything i have tried to my knowledge.. still no heat, could a flow or return pipe going upstairs be blocked ..plus the f and e tank is filled and is not venting over...

What is my problem?
thanks......

trvs stuck ? rad valves of ? check for flow and return blockage by shutting all and opening vents the open each valve with a bucket ubnder vanrt

is the pipework that rises warm? could be a massive air lock? if stuck drain, down and try back filling the system from the mains, this could push the blockage up the vent or up the cold feed! is there any water in the upstairs rads?

yea pipe warm yea cold water when i bleed upstairs rads..

?????????????

yea..lol..and between the two of us we still cant suuss this problem eitheir!! :) lol only jokng steve!

having water at rad when venting doesnt prove anything you need to check its being fed from both sides turn of both valves remove pin from bleed nipple and vent into a bucket by opening each valve for a while easiest on a small rad where you can reach both valves or you need a helper if its a tank fed system vent till you get hot from both valves this will clear any air or tell you if one pipe is blocked

on old systems , non returns were fitted , i,ve came across ones that get blocked . plus new systems converted to combi,s get piped the
wrong way round .
