I've just been to visit an air locked shower pump. It has it's own connection on top of the hot water cylinder, the pipe goes up, across then down to the pump.
No vent has been fitted so I undid the connection on top of the cylinder and removed the air. The pump now works but air will eventually cause the same problem.
Could I 'T' in a vent and connect to the other hot water draw off vent or just fit an automatic air vent on the shower connection. The CWSC is at least 2m above the cylinder.

assuming it a s flange on top of the cylinder are you sure its connected to the correct outlet they can be confusing as the pump normally comes of the vertical and the vent of the horizontal connections which is opposite to the way youd think

Thanks for your replies. I've managed to get a better look at top of the cylinder. There is no Surrey flange just a tee off for the shower then an elbow to the hot water draw off. Also no isolation valves on the pump. Customer wants Surrey Flange and Iso Valves, good.
