Hi i am constantly getting noise from my combi boiler its a ratting when the boiler is not in use it stops when i switch off the cold water feed at the stopcock.
I have tried shock arresters. Could fluctuating water pressure be rattling something inside the boiler?
Would an expansion tank help?
any ideas would be gratefully received

Sounds like the water mains is getting through to the boiler.
You need to get a qualified engineer to sort it & service it.
And this forum cannot give out any advice on repairs if it is a gas combi boiler.
