I have a customer with a Glow-worm 80FF which has a very strange problem, and I was wondering if there was anyone out there with any experiece/idea of what's going on. When the boiler is on, there is no problem. But when it goes off, ie up to temperature or in an "off" mode, the pump over-run comes on for about five minutes, and then this strange chattering/vibration starts up. It doesn't stop until mains electricity is switched off to the heating system. I thought it was the relay on the pCB, as I couldn't think of anything else that could chatter. I changed it in May last year, but the noise has returned. It's either another faulty PCB, or another problem. It goes all night if they don't turn the power off....anyone help? Thanks.

will think about your prob but dont get any new parts.........use ingnite heat spares

I'm sure Glowworm had a batch of faulty PCBs, about 2 years ago I re-replaced a handful of couple month old PCBs. One of them was making a violent chattering noise when it was trying to fire.

Thanks for that, have just had another thought that it's a dodgy PCB (bought on ebay, but it was brand new) & I'll replace it using ignite. Hopefully that'll do the trick!

Thank you, that's really helpful: will replace PCB & see what happens.

How did I miss this?

You need a gsr in to look at your boiler. We cannot and will not give advice on the installation or repair of boilers for your own safety.

Please go to Gas Safe Register | Ensure your gas engineer is registered. or post a thread in the 'I'm looking for a plumber / gas engineer' section of these forums remembering to include your location. [DLMURL="http://www.ukplumbersforums.co.uk/im-looking-plumber-gas-engineer/"]I'm looking for a Plumber or Gas Engineer[/DLMURL]

If you are gsr please increase your post count to 10+ then send a pm to either Gas man or Redsaw who will then check you and then give you access to the gsr private forum.

Thank you.
