my hot tank has started to make a noise like a hammer! it happens around 8-12secs after turning on any hot water tap, and can last for anything from 10 - 30 secs even if you turn the tap off
never had a issue like it in 15 years havnt turned the temp up or had any plumming done
2 thoughts one was the cold water feed to the tank so i got in the loft had someone else turn the hot on and as i moved the feed line it eased the noise
the other was a air lock but i did the cold to hot tap trick using mains pressure to force the aor back into the tank but it did nothing
thinking i just need to replace the feed valve in the hot water tank?
