No it's not the pump, but it IS horizontal instead of vertical- needs to change right? Pipe is also installed in the wall! OMG !
I think not supported or insulated or insulation has died.. wall now acts as a sound board... needless to say driving her crazy.... for years??? Plus, the pump also runs 24/7, resulting in the water that was hot after the boiler heated the cylinder in the morning, by wizzing around all day, by lunch time a hot shower is out of the question. So, cust calls me can I sort it? I would want to rip it all out and start again, BUT, not possible. Allright I'll turn the pump and wire it = timer/prog. (right?) My question is this: Is there a device I can fit at the point of use to which would only allow the secondary circulation to work when needed? AND any OTHER advise would be mucho mucho appreciated. :blush5:

Could you not piggyback off "HW on" from programmer in the wiring centre?

Actually I suppose that wouldn't be a very good idea if programmer was set to "once" or twice"

Would perhaps work if HW times set to say 6.00am - 11pm and left like that but someone will end up changing the programmer to "on" so ignore my rubbish idea and run it off its own timer lol

You could wire in an occupancy detector with timer, or more if required on other floors.

It's similar to the infrared movement detector found on burgler alarms and automatic lighting systems.

Just keep things nice & simple put it on its own timer, Just ask if they want Digital or Manual timer

Simple Manual switch on my last job, really quick handover with customer to!

Hi update-
Job done, was a bit of a mission to trace the cable from the pump back down to the junction box, but it having said that it was smooth and I hope she is pleases.... waiting for thanks ............................................................................. .....................................................................................................................................................................................
