hi was wondering if you have to give notification to water supplier when installing a shower pump drawing more than 12 litres per minute. because pretty much every shower pump will draw more than that?.

i know if you install a break cistern which is using a pump to pump wholesome water up to flats etc, then you need notification.

regs states any water pump connected directly or indirectly to any main drawing more than 12 litres a minute. thanks for the help

According to the water regs you are supposed to but the policing of the scheme in this area is so poor that most people don't bother. Seems a bit pointless bringing in regulations that you can't police but the water bylaws were just the same. You'd ring southern water to tell them you'd laid a water main, did they want to inspect before you backfilled and they never bothered.
