Hi,

I completed my C+G 6129 Level 2 last year and am about to complete my C+G 6129 Level 3 in July...

On the back of this I would like to get the full NVQ 6089 Level 2 by doing the on-site work assessments. As I am self-employed this involves getting an assessor on board and registering with C+G. I have been trying my local colleges and the private providers - local colleges say that as I am self-employed they can not help me as the norm is that they take on students being at least part funded by the government so I do not qualify, the private providers were offering the service at £1200 last year it is now up to £2300 - probably because NVQ 6089 is due to be scrapped in July this year and replaced by NVQ 6189 and they are therefore upping their prices to take advantage of those of use wishing to register before the deadline.

Does anyone out there know of any private assessors that would be able to help? I know a couple of people I have met on courses have bumped into plumbers who are qualified assessors and are willing to help them out (for a fee of course - a fee I would be willing to pay if it beats the private providers which are taking advantage)

Cheers

doesnt work like that mate, cannot be done privately that way. the assessor will need to register you, he would need to be verified by the awarding organisation for that
