I have just spent the last 3 months studying the 6128 technical certificate in heating and ventilation and passed the exams. When the course started I was told that progression would be onto the NVQ2 portfolio scheme which I could complete in as little as six months, working in the industry and verified by the college.

Now I have learned that the NVQ 2 has been replaced by the NVQ diploma and this can only be studied over 2 years starting in September. Also, my college is scaling back on some courses, including in the plumbing department.

Can anyone tell me how I can continue my route to certification as a plumber (formerly recognised by the NVQ 2) and onto doing my unvented, without going back to college for a 2 year course? Thanks
