im due to start this or the new course in september part time but there is a possibility that im going to have to pay for it myself! :(
the collage have not relesed the new prices yet and wont until next month. jut wondering what RECENT people have payed for the course via a collage?

when i spoke to the reception lady she said at a rough guess £2400 per year which is :eek:

then i spoke to somone else who said about £1000 per year which is not too bad.

i think its in the region of £1400 to £2000, somewhere in that region, or it is at my college, dont think the prices change that much as long as its with a proper college and not a rip off training centre.

I paid £3,950 for 2 to 3 years but I had heard about a course £9,000 for about 2 months didn't include VAT or interest if I rightly remember. Are there any references for those colleges or courses, how long have they been going. You can usually figure out for yourself if you've got a good deal or not. It depends on whats included in the course.

depends on which qual you are doing, your centre, your age and places available.
cannot give a rpice without knowing all that

The college I work at charges £350 for NVQ only (assuming you have tech cert)
T.C on nightclass is about £1100 over two years (£550 per annum)

I am 30 and have been at college for the last year starting the c & G 6129 tech cert last september. I was originally told at the start that i could not start the NVQ2 until i had completed my tech cert.

Tech cert cost for 1 year £1200
college registration fee £115.00
city and guilds reg for exams £120.00ish
Tech cert cost for second year due to changes in qualifications £1600

At college, to register for my nvq2 (done at end of 1st year) I filled out a form to say i had no previous nvq qualifications. This meant I i turn got my NVQ2 paid for, leaving me only to pay £94.50 registration fees.

So basically, you'll have to pay for your tech cert and as long as you have no previous nvq's you have no further costs.

But this has still cost me £3200 and 2 years at college 1 day a week. Also I have been working for £200 a week wages but at the end of the day it will all be worth it.(I hope) :)

Still have to pay for acs and gas safe register too. Wish I had done it at 18 and got it all paid for like all the other ungrateful turds who turn up at college when they can be bothered.

Too add, our tutor informed us of changes to to future courses, now called a plumbing deploma and can only be attended by students in full time apprenticeships.

Good luck

IF you get a start with someone you may get another £100 or so take home. Go SE and you may struggle to get that after expenses i'm afraid.

Hardly the big money that was promised. The trade is dying :(
