Oil fired boiler not getting heat to any radiator with Honeywell V4073A1039 3 way valve

I have an oil fired boiler that is firing up fine, but reaching temperature quickly as it is not heating up the radiators. The pipes in and out are hot. I also have a junction upstairs with feed in pipe and the two pipes leading off are also both hot (one to HW tank and the other to the radiators). I have bled the radiators, there was a lot of air in two radiators but now sorted, but heat is still not reaching the radiators - any of them! The pump seems fine as it is vibrating. Can you suggest a solution (advices would be appreciated as my wife is not impressed with my efforts so far!)

it sounds like you have a 3 way valve(the 'junction' you describe)This valve opens to allow water to flow to HW,to Heating,or to both.It has a lever on the head that you can manually open,if you do this and the radiators get hot,then the head is probably faulty.

The pump could be the problem also.Is the hot water working?

Try to open the manual lever on the 3 way valve and see if that works first.

I do have a Honeywell V4073A1039 3 way valve. but i cannot see a lever on it - can you tell me where it is situated? The hot water is working fine, so it sounds like it could well be the valve.

The lever is situated on the side of the silver box on the valve head.You can see it in the picture below the black cable.

You need to push the lever sideways,there should be resistance.Push it as far as it will go,you then need to hold it up to engage it into a slot to hold it in place. If your heating then works the valve head needs to be replaced. The head only can be replaced,there's no need to drain the water system. It's a job for an engineer though.

Many thanks, Bartdude. My valve is fitted vertically and the lever is on the underside so had not seen it until now. Have just tried your suggestion and that seems to be the problem, so will get head replaced. Once again thanks for your help - much appreciated.
