Just a question, some of you may know. The really old double panel radiators, the ones with no fins on them just 2 flat panels, my question is, would I get the same btus from a new single panel convector
radiator as I would with the old panel radiators.

Do I really need to replace it with a double?

Cheers,

Measure the room and check out what it needs TBH :) You'll most likely find a single convector equivalent size will equal the output of whatevers in IMO :)

Double up the output of a stelrad P1 to give you an approximation but you are better sizing the new one to suit the room unless you are covering the decor.

Some types of rads are made in double with only one panel with fins. That way they are slimmer than the double finned type & IMO better looking than a single convector.
