Old style radiator heat output

I have an "old style" radiator in my hall - it has no "fins" on the back. I reckon its about 20 or 30 years old. Its double panel and measures 127cm by 60cm approx - does anyone know roughly what its heat output might be please ?

Are you having problems with it heating the hall? Just curious as to why you need to know its "output"? Output reality relies on so much more than it's size in all honesty!

No problem heating the hall. I'm decorating so was considering replacing it with something a little newer

Where's your room stat? If not in the hall then a single convector replacement with a trv would do the trick ... however if the room stat is in the hall then you need a proper sized rad based on room volume etc!

You can't get doubles these days without some additional 'fins' attached and are a bit more efficient! Personally I'd opt for a 700 x 1200 single convector as an alternative if you can; rule of thumb? That's my rule of thumb by-the-way, nothing official

You're welcome My train of thought regarding the conversion is that slightly more surface area but single convection should give a similar output! In truth from original install there's most likely been double glazing and better insulation fitted so you may even get away with a smaller radiator! However without calculations that'd be my best guess
