What is the manual button used for on a honeywell mid position valve, is it for when your draining the central heating system, and filling it back up? Is it a case of when draining the system, then going to the valve and keeping it on manual while the rest of the system drains? As much help and advice would be brilliant. Thankyou

It seems that you have broken into the heating game with all these questions, at some point you are going to need to leave the customer with a working system, if you don't know the answer to your own question, then maybe your not qualified enough to be carrying out this work without supervision
will you be chemically retreating the system etc etc.
My apologies if you are a time served heating engineer!

i wasnt asking your opinion whether i should be doing this, I just liking to have a better idea before i do it. When i started i was nervous about swapping a siphon, now iv done it alot of times its second nature, the same has happened obn every other job ive done, so [please, helpful info would be nice.

I was just about to give my opinion to wrecked 24 7 when I saw that leakylea had beaten me to it , the other day you were asking how to hang a rad , surely your not out there charging people for practising on their heating systems , your customers would be better off coming on this site and asking the same questions as you and tryng to sort it out themselves.
Sorry if ive offended you but if you had been installing and repairing heating systems for over twenty years the first three of them for slave wages whilst learning the trade perhaps you might understand.

manual lever just what it says on the tin..
just enables you to manually decide which way the valve is open.
once its manually open in either direction, dosnt mean you can drain or fill, just means you have control of the direction of flow through the valve.
if you have an understanding of the circuits that your manipulating, it will help you.

good luck

what do u think im doing? Im not going to charge the earth, and i didnt have the privilage of bein "took under someones wing" as an apprentice, due to the lack of apprenticeships these days. I had to do it on my own, and so far yes I have made some mistakes, but Ive put them down as a learning curve. I HAVE NOT HAD 1 UNHAPPY customer yet, as I have always sorted the problem, and my polite manner. I have hung radiators before, but I was wondering if people knew a specific method which was both quick and simple. I understand where your coming from, but surely you should try nurture someone rather than squash them down, for trying to do something with his life. Thanks all the same

Hmm

A good way to get info, is to write to Honeywell themselves, just say why you want it, they have given people fantastic help in the past. You can get all kinds off them about their various plans and wiring centres for free.

For £30 you can go on an Honeywell wiring course which is for 1 day, very informative and well worth the money IMHO
