Went to a job today to clip a flue on a Baxi Combi 105e Instant. The flue is verticle, has 2x 45 degrees elbows and an adaptor to the flue outlet up to 125mm. It goes up through the loft and had strap banding holding it up and was plastered with closure plate tape. I removed the tape and the banding and the flue fell apart! I had a look at it, one of the internal clamps had snapped off, one wouldn't clamp up tight enough, one the screws had snapped. They were badly corroded due to the leaking POCs.
There's then the outer clamps, which were 2 different sizes, one was missing the rubber sleeve and one wouldn't tighten up fully. The flue extension had also been cut too short.
I couldn't make the flue back up with it falling over. I had to use tape just to get it back in to position.
My questions are, what should the flue be like? Should it have clamps on the inner and outer flue? Or should it be push fit? Do the elbows come with the clamps?
