I dropped little metal scissors down the toilet around 2 months ago by accident, they went straight down and i tried with hangers and many other objects to try and get them out, to no avail.

Ever since then when i flush the toilet water splashes up through the drain in the shower and often loads of bubbles come up, like soapy water.

Aswell as this if i run the tap in the sink for a long time the toilet immediatley burps up air bubbles.

I think but am not sure that when i flush the toilet some of the water may come up the sink, if it does, it doesnt come all the way up enough to come out of the drain, but i think the water in the pipe down my sink does come up a little bit when the toilet is being used.

I have since stopped using the shower, i still use the toilet however it seems to be getting more blocked so im also using a different toilet now, but i am still using the sink.

i have 2 questions and would greatly appreciate answers

1. Is this a simple problem to fix or a costly one?

2. Is this a health issue, and if it is, what kind of health problems?

thanks a lot

the scisors are causing a partial blockage you need to get them removed or it will block totally and flood

thanks steve, this partial blockage, is it causing dirty water to come up through my shower, dirty water from my toilet?

also, can it come through my sink?

thanks

Yes it could be causing waste water to back up through you shower, yes it could be dirty waste water from you loo

if sink is higher than w/c pan will not come up sink but will unsettle trap

basically scissors are catching loo paper and any solids and causing partial blockage as said,it is unlikely to get any better and not very healthy so get sorted, make sure they get scissors out or blockage will happen again and again

imho

ok thanks, is this dangerous to my health then? thx

well showering with your feet in excrement is not the healthiest ways of living would have thought 🙁

you surely know if you are living with blocked drains, you are not going to receive the queens hygiene award 😱

However all the rodents you attract will be greatfull for the warmth and shelter you provide, not sure about neighbours though

imho

dont brush your teeth in the shower or leave your tooth brush in your basin, the taste could be anything but minty.
