Open vent room stat to domicondens 26c combi

Hello everyone, I am converting open vent system to condensing boiler. My question is can I use the old room stat with the new combi or do I need a new stat specific to combis? It has 4 cables (brown, blue, yellow and green). In the instruction there is a warning saying, "IMPORTANT: THE ROOM THERMOSTAT MUST HAVE VOLTAGE-FREECONTACTS. CONNECTING 230 V TO THE ROOM THERMOSTAT TERMINALS WILL PERMANENTLY DAMAGE THE ELECTRONIC BOARD." Thanks

are we talking a honeywell dial room stat, if so yes you just need to change the wiring, download and take one of their wiring guides

how old is the heating system, please tell me you explained to the customer youre not responsible for any leaks which converting to a pressurised system may cause, any damage doesnt come under your insurance and finding and fixing leaks will be extra, talking from bitter experience here

Hi ambrosia no, its not looking like a honeywell but says ecl and its just a black knob with temperature graduation around the dial.
