Outside tap stopped working

This happened suddenly, have been using it fine very recently and it has suddenly stopped working. Nothing has been fiddled with, it was working fine day before yesterday and just stopped working yesterday. Any ideas?

How do you know it's not an outside garden tap?

Sounds like a stuck washer or blocked pipe, I'd try changing the tap first.

I'm guessing you mean an outside garden tap and not the stopcock

May just need a new washer, assuming you have water else where

Check valve failed, at a guess - they're integrated into garden taps. As others have said you'll need to take apart or just replace the tap.

Seeing as you'll have to find an isolation valve before you do this, however, you might like to double-check (pun!) that it hasn't been accidentally turned off first.
