I listen to fellow tradesmen and watch people on here raving about this companies boilers but fail to understand why having been out to another newish greenstar boiler with water spraying from a pinhole in the plastic supply manifold. I would agree that some of the earlier boilers were decent but the current crop are neither better or to be fair worse than many mid priced boilers i see and yet £200 more. If ever there was a company living on past glories.

i have never liked WB they are overpriced plastic tat IMHO and a nightmare to work on

The older ones built better imo been to ones 15 years old and still chugging along .Cant say that about the new ones 5 years old WB's have been replacing as owners fed up with constant issues with them . Overpriced imo and marketed very well .

Plastic tat boilers the modern ones are.
Old cdi highflows etc, built to last.

They do have a very good service side though

And parts aren't too ridiculous compared to others, don't fit them unless cust insists though.

My company fit at least 10 WB boilers a week and I have fitted WB for the last 5 years We dont have many problems with them considering the amount we fit.

I have been out to a few pin holed manifolds but then I have been out to more leaking diverters on vaillants.

There after sales is brilliant, Parts are reasonably priced.

As for living off a past reputation I dont think they are the old Juniors chew through PCB's and APS. The old CDI's diverter valves that leak as soon as you breath on them. The only old ones I really like is the Highflow but if you need to change the PHEX its a nightmare.

WB. UTTER. RUBBISH.

Trading on a past reputation.

Nothings built to last these days.

Just look at pharmaceutical companys, they don't bring many cures to the table only treatments. No money in cures. It's all about repeat business.

full of plastics dont /wont fit them

but dont mind fixing them kerching.

definetly overpriced in fact ridiculously overpriced for a shed load of plastic and an aluminium sillicon hex should be a brass water set and stainless steel hex at the very least for the price paid

thats why i fit the duotec 1 or golds much better for longevity

at the moment i'm fitting ideal logic plus hard not to with a 7 year warranty but also has alluminium silicon hex.
pts ideal espirit logic in disguise as a budget boiler
and ferroli modena he. nice boiler stainless twin pass hex so no diverter valve but dont like the clock too small so leave it out and use a prog stat

Can't stand Worcesters boilers, crap to work on and very problematic, I wouldn't fit one in my own house.

will keep fitting the golds or duotec 1 as long as they make them, stainless hex, brass watersets and my 8 year old kid could fault find on them simple thats all you want, why have a stupid blue flashing light and a prv you lose 3 pints of blood trying to replace? oh and plastic parts that develop severe incontinence did i mention the hex has disintegrated into the trap and the burner gaskets turned to dust after 4 years of fga servicing ?

I dont think you can knock Ideal after the service Julesverne got for the lady with the leg humpin dog :)
