I'm going to paint the bathroom ceiling, kitchen ceiling, and downstairs toilet walls myself. I bought some green paint a while ago, and used it for my bedroom. I wiped it with a wet sponge after 6 months and it started to come off on the sponge  which is a bit useless.

So what type of paint should I use, that is suitable for kitchen/bathrooms and will allow me to clean it without coming off like the green paint? Are all new paints crap because they're now water based, so you get lousy application (like the new humbrol modellers paints)

Aldi have these, ok or not suitable?

hi, you can buy paint from homebase etc that is designed for painting walls and ceilings in kitchen and bathrooms, i have used it at home and had no problem myself. its designed to deal and cope with moisture so it should not come off on a sponge.

Will those Aldi paints be ok though? I don't have much coverage, so 1 liter pots will be plenty. £4 seems a good price. Focus have bathroom/kitchen pot for £15 quite expensive. I think matt for ceiling, silk for wall, and gloss for window cill.

ive found with paint you get what you pay for, you cant go wrong with proper advice from the man in the dulux paint shop, the paint is twice or three time what you'd pay in b n q. but the advice and life of paint is the same too!!

Dulux paint like you said is 2-3x more expensive but I don't think it's worth it. I do know the really cheap paint is well, crap it's like applying water. But there's a happy medium.

you could always go to dulux shop, and open an account in your plumbing trade name, then your get your 25% discount straight away. the discount varies on what you buy, but its done me proud.

leyland do decent paint-1/2 price of dulux.painters on site always use it!:)
