Hi fellas,

Im just trying save my pennies as i will need em in he future.
Thanks

When we were under the dog for gas registation, I was told that to fit boilers, it was a mandatory requirement to have energy efficiency. Never did it under the dog.

Gas safe inspector told me on last inspection that it was not needed....It was the same inspector. Still have not got it

thanks graham

i will go with your advice and save me some hassle till being asked by someone to do it.

so it means that if i have to register a newly installed boiler i wont have to tell building control but just register it on gas safe website.

cheers mate

This is incorrect. To register boilers under a Part L competent person scheme, you will require a Part L qualification. You are required to proove that you are competent for Part L energy efficiency to register for an approved scheme or register through your local building control office. If GSR are telling you different then they are incorrect. Will contact them next week to discuss this with them.

gas safe dont ask for it, doesnt mean its not required, just not their remit

thanks guys,

that was helpful advice. i guess il have to do part L then cps i was told by one of my mates that our local building control charges about £80 for registering the boiler!!
