Permanent toilet removal

Evening all, Quick one for ya....am taking out a toilet permanently and was wondering the proper way to fill in the soil pipe that's in the ground? Heard of numerous ways and obviously want to do it properly. Any advice is greatly received.

A 4 inch blank plug, will do the trick ( plastic one).
