Had a email to quote changing bath taps so gave a "no dramas" price. She then started saying that someone else had looked but fobbed her off. So thought hummmmmm did some digging and long story shot
the stopcock is broke and won't tirm off
she lives in a flat so can't turn the water off at the meter as errr there ain't one as it does the whole level
cant freeze before the stopcock as the bath taps won't turn off

any ideas?

How bad is the stopcock?
I did one a couple of weeks ago - similar. Was a terraced house and the toby was proper buried, old stopcock only slowed the water down a bit, probably to about half the flow of when fully open.
Ended up snatching a new stopcock above the old one, bit of a brown trouser moment when the slice went through but not too bad. Solid floors with lino so no harm done.

Not sure of all the exact details yet. I wanna freeze it but it's running water cause of the taps. I could use speed fit isolation valves and cut the bath feed and get them on fast wile every other tap and toilet is going lol and leave the stopcock alone. But it I can do the stopcock it's pay day lol.

personally for now I would forget the taps, and impress on her how important the stop tap is.

Aladdin valve.

Do they actually work that good? where does the cut out of pipe go? No chance of it getting lose and causing problems?

I had a pig of a job when I did a job in the Danepak factory!:p

Update! Been to look at the job, bothe the bath cold and stopcock have no seal in tham at all and the bath has had to cold running flat out for 2 weeks. The service pipe feeds 6 flats, managed to get South East water to come out to find the mains shut off.
All the pipes are scum in the flat and need binning found 5 leaks in the hot and cold. Propper mess the majority needs ripping out and replaceing.

I always thought kitchen units were supposed to have doors lol
