Hi all - done the basic pressure testing for central heating and hot/cold water (no leaks - wow...).

I was going to cover up but wanted to insulate before I added plasterboard etc

I have some 2m lengths of 10mm grey foam insulation for 15mm pipework - is this ok to use ? Should I be using thicker insulation ?

I was going to slit it then put it on the pipe then use some electrical tape to keep it on.
Is this approach ok or is there a better one ?

Sorry for the simple question but I is a newbie 🙂

Thanks
Ed

If it's going in plasterboard can't you just stuff the stud walls with glass fibre?

The only way you can fix the grey stuff is with tape - wrap it in a spiral so when the sticky goes off it will not come off.

1omm would be OK. You can get thicker insulation but it depends on where you are using it, and possible heat losses.

I always used to use Armaflex (the black stuff). You stick it together with a special adhesive. However it has got very expensive now.
