😀Went to a house where boiler making really loud noise(like a jet plane or old kettle boiling) this noise only happens as system gets up to temperature so i think maybe partial blockage in heat exchanger causing air build up and whistling through please anybody with some advice would be helpful.😕😕😕

Could be heat exchanger sightly scaled/blocked,gas pressures to high, boiler thermostat out of calibration, old age

like the poll ,no, 'no idea whatever info you give 'option though :-(
imho

Feel a power flush coming on,although prefer chemical placed in system and run hot for a period and then flushed out, still think better way if system still working and allows it

imho

i thought powerflush if chemical dont do the job thanks for that sometimes a second opinion helps just to confirm what you suspect will let you know what the outcome is

this one not positve pressure but i do check case seal never the less cheers anyway.

Best way is powerflush or chemical cleaning, but if customer not wanting to spend, or you want to delay flush to later date, put some Sentinel X200 or Fernox F2 noise reducer. It works pretty fast & well, but check with customer that rads are all fully getting hot, also it's a quick fix & not permanent.

"Kettling" is a classic sign (sound) of sludge build up. We tend to pre dose the system with Fernox F3 anad run the system as frequently as possible both heat / DHW. Couple of weeks later you can flush it. Would it not be better to replace an old boiler like that? is it about 15 yrs old?
