Please help identify this radiator

Hi Guys,

If anyone can help me you can! the radiator in this photo leaks not from the fittings but the actual radiator, many plumbers have tried to "FIX" the leak with various compounds but it never lasts long, also no one can find where it came from as it has no visable make or markings.

Has anyone seen one like it or know who makes it, we want to do a staight swap with one the same (unusual width means modified pipework to fit any other radiator)

There are several manufacturers making flat column radiators like that. You would need to know the dimensions - length and height, and compare them with the usual manufacturers. Look on the Myson and Stelrad websites for a start. You would just need to make sure the height and width are the same, but any make the right size will fit.

If the existing radiator is leaking from the body there's nothing you can do. Is it rusted through or a design fault? Is there any inhibitor in the circuit?

Its leaking at the bottom, seems rusted no idea on inhibitor only brought the house 5 month ago. Will get that checked.

if it is an alumillium sectional rad it can be striped down and re jointed however the time and effort involved would probably make it cheaper to buy a new one somewhere in my lock up is the keys and rachet for doing these
you could try searching on faral rads

IF ITS ALUMINUIM THEN YOU CAN REPAIR IT.
using a blowtorch and alu rods found on classic car restoration websites around £10 for the rods. just like soldering but cleaning with stainless stel brush.
i whould do it for you if your in notts.

if it's steel you can braze it to repair, just did this with a panel radiator that was 200 mm high and rusted through refilled with anti corrosives no problem
