Hi, if anyone can help it would be amazing - over the last week the mixer tap in my kitchen has started seeping water from its base - it has slowly got worse and is now constantly leaking.

I'm sure there is a simple solution and I don't want to have to pay a plumber to come and sort it if I can do it myself (I'm very handy).

first - I don't know where to turn the water off - here is a pic of underneath my sink

the blue valve goes to the dish washer - I have tried the tap thing at the bottom but it seem to be off already I think (only turns anti clockwise) - could the main water valve be somewhere else? (this is the first house I've bought so this is all new to me so sorry for my ignorance)

second - if I do manage to turn the water off I'm not sure how to take the tap apart - here is a pic

the cold/hot indicator doesn't seem to come off

any feedback would be much appreciated :)

i think you will find it should come off but needs some more persuading unless there is a cap at the back

You may need a new tap though as you may struggle to fix this one as I suspect the cartridge has snapped

To turn the water off I would need to trace the pipe work back but the stopcock you refer to may be ceased

You could turn the water off on your outside stopcock in the street, What plumbing system are you on?

hot/cold indicator should prise out, grub screw behind, top comes off.

Then may just be an o ring,

But as Plumstar has said, probably new tap time! Without a manufacturers name, spares would be hard if not impossible to trace!
