please help My ariston combi is playing up.

Hi, i have a ariston microgenus 23mffi combi that has just developed a mind of it's own, basically een though the the remote room thermostat isn't calling for the heating to come on the boiler is repeatedly firing up & shutting down, if i leave it the rads do start to get hot. the only way to stop this happening is to turn the central heating temp knob to off. the hot water works fine though.

has anyone any idea's what the problem could be?.

Does It have a chimney sweep button?

I've had this b4, it kept firing up, going off, firing up, going off, the tenant was pressing buttons and this was the outcome. I pressed the chimney sweep button and it stopped(after much head scratching I must confess).
 
Thanks for replying Mbear, no it hasn't got a chimney sweep button. i thought it might be the thermisters but they were only changed last year.
 
check dhw microswitch on top of diverter valve, turn off power, disconnect wiree to switch.turn on power, turn up boiler/heating stat if boiler doesn't come on, it's the dhw micro switch.
Note, when testing don't turn the time control,.
 
thanks aggis, with refreence to the dhw microswitch on top of diverter valve you mentioned is this the same component discribed in the manual as the 'Diaphram main flow switch'. this is bolted onto the side of the diverter part of mybsystem. there is also a part called the 'motor (3 way valve)' which goes on top of this unit.

its a wet thermistor or wet motor trough the diverter valve bush leaking
