Can anyone please help. Recently moved into a house with an ancient new world back boiler. It was working ok but running 24/7 today I put the timer on and now nothing is working, no heat or hot water. boiler pilot is alight but boiler not firing. Pump doesn't seem to be working. I'm useless at anything like this but followed instructions on pull down flap in front of fire. nothing happened. The pump ( I think it's the pump anyway) has a wire with a red tag on it attached at one end, the other end is just hanging, but I don't. Know if this is just an earth. I'm a retired primary school teacher and not at all practical so would be really grateful for any advice.P

Thanks so much for replying. I hadn't tried anything. I don't know if the fuse has blown or not as I don't have a replacement 3 amp fuse, but I will try that as soon as shops are open again to buy one. Again many thanks.

I did find a 3 amp fuse in a standard lamp, but that made no difference. As I said in my original post, the pilot is alight - the boiler isn't firing up though. As I still have the gas fire for heating I am waiting till after the hols to call someone out. Thanks for all the replies.
