What you guys think of that tiler whos ran '20ft' of gas pipe and renewed all plumbing and heating circuits then in a house?
Im watching what im saying lol :p

It's not good mate. Taking work off people who pay there subs to gassafe and if any numpty signs it off then he's a mug and just as bad as him. Unfortunately this type of thing will always go on and there will always be somebody willing to sign it off.

I personally would never touch a job like that, I like my sleep to much at night to lie there worrying about a job I have done.

If his work is as bad as his use of the English language then it's worrying.

Totally agree guys, really boils my blood. I know a lot of guys who even sign this type of stuff off. Kind of makes me sick how a lot of builders do their own plumbing and gas jobs for customers and think there know it all.
The ease of such materials like plastics encourage DIY'ers to do their own plumbing

Have u read his previous topics? Hes been doing this for quite a number of years, worryingly on some posts such as putting iso valves on the main hot distribution pipe off the cylinder! :|
I really dont know how people sleep?!!
I would basically cry if i left a leak at someones house never mind touching stuff that i don't know.

I don`t agree with it either it seems that, this guy has done some plumbing and earned some wages (nowt wrong with that) but gas pipe etc not good at all. from previous posts he seems a generalist but certainly no specialist

He is no more a tiler than he is a plumber !

Makes you wonder what these guys work is actually like compared to a experienced served plumber..

Somebody once posted a link to youtube about some cracking plumbing work (!) This springs to mind when I read it. "Polish Plumber" I think it was called. System3 dont look cos it involves flexis and we dont want to start you off.

Gotta love these guys, just been to a new boiler I installed that had failed. Here we go. Maintenance man, you know the ones. Does everything. He had extended the flue through a storm porch, lean too affair. With a length of soil pipe, " do you have to be gas safe then Mate" why is it I don't go meddling with things I'm not qualified for but these clowns do.

They are really so brave to be mucking around with stuff that they know very very little about!
U should of posted pics :p

Tell me about it. Had one t'other week. Onsite handyman caused a building evacuation because he could "definitely and no mistakes about it!" smell gas on the 5th floor of a building over here, gas only on the ground floor at the opposite end of the place. Fire service showed up, shut off the meter but left the boilers running to suck the gas out of the pipework.

I get sent in to investigate and took 2 minutes to find a dry trap on an unused drinking fountain trap.

Just to teach him a lesson I performed a full drop test on the pipework using my high manometer and the extra time it demanded (15+15+15) before I turned the gas back on and let everyone back in the building. I couldn't help laughing at the looks the muppet was getting!

Thee seems to be an abundance of people with a confidence/skill ratio deficit.
