Hi i am currently doing a home learning plumbing course at home and although i am enjoying it i would rather be doing a apprenticeship as it is practical as well as theory which i feel would be better for me, i tried to get one when i was sixteen and now im twenty and looking to get a apprenticeship and was wondering if anyone in hertfordshire near watford was giving them out...if not does anyone have any advice to get one i spoke to apprenticeship.org on the phone and the carrers advice helpline who said to ring plumbing companies in the area is this the right thing to do? thanks

I'm afraid that is about all you can do. It's not enjoyable and as a self employed plumber it's not my favourite phone call to receive. I'd love to give someone a job and so would most other plumbers but there just isn't enough work at the moment.

Best call I had was my last one. In a 12 second call he was very polite, straight to the point and finished by apologising for bothering me (and me apologising to him for not having a position).

Best time to contact is probably between 6pm and 7pm. After 7pm it's an effort to move away from the tv!!

Best of luck.
