lets find out how many years experience the forum has to offer when asking for advice!.
i will run it for a week then add it up, this will give an average/ish for a thread to be replied too by regular members.

keep it accurate please:rockon2:

From the start of your apprenticeship or from the day you got your certs?

I've not included the slave labour I performed as a boy working for Croppie Snr.

Did they use town gas back then?

do you think when some one is asking for gas advice that when we tell them 212,867 years experience from the advice given says 'get a gsr in' they will get the message.lol

Lucky you, not everyone can get to 46... Hope there are many more years for you to enjoy!

Yuk that council house, the one with the bath full to the top with .................. well lets just say the toilet got blocked and when that filled up they started on the bath......

Forty years qualified in Gas for me, did my Plumbing C&G final in '79.
Depressing eh!

finished my apprentiship in 1974 but had realy been a plumber for a year before that so that would have been 73 which is 40 years this june as we got our results in june in those days as soon as i had my guilds the firm gave me a mate and sent us out as a pair first job i did as a plumber and mate was to fit a cast iron grease trap into a 2 inch copper waste in a kitchen on the corner of eagle passage and jermyn st, piccadilly, london .Had to alter all the wastes to get the fall diffence across the trap can remember sweating like a pig with fright that id feck it up
a few years ago there was a picture in the paper of a guy stone drunk at ascot or epsom asleep in the rubbish on the floor when he was interviewed on telly a few days later i realised he was the plumbers mate from that fatefull day Frank Corke he never could drink

4 year apprenticeship then been qualified 6 years..... It feels longer than that :(
