There is no ''port folio required as such but signed evidence of working with a RGI on gas work. That would be the RGI's work not yours. If you work on gas without the appropiate qual or supervision you will contravene Gas regs. The work must be signed off by a RGI, he should be the one leading th work not you.
What you should be asking is if I can arrange work for a RGI can I work alongside you and add this to my diary of gas evidnce then you sign it with you RGI number.
Do you have full pumbing quals currently? do you know how much gas work you require? it alters dependant on your quals. the minimum being 120 days of gas work. a few boilers wouldnt satisfy that

perhaps would be best if you re-worded it to i can get work for a gas safe reg eng, for boiler installs/gas work, if i can assist you to gain evidence for my portfolio.

its him who has to sign it off so should be him getting the work and being paid for it.

have you got your gas certs and are just getting a portfolio for gas safe reg? ? or is this gas portfolio to get your certs ?
