Hi, i am currently doing a level 2 nvq course in domestic natural gas, and require 4 boiler installations and services to complete my portfolio. I am willing to pay anyone who is willing to give me this experience at a rate of £60 a day. I am based in stokenewington n16. If anyone is interested please email me on [email protected]

Hi mate i had to do my portfolio for nothing as the engineer is kindly signing

his name on the dotted line and we all know how hard it is to get an engineer

to help out, i know i had great difficulty

cant blve they are letting people loose with only 8 gas jobs to their portfolio thats plain dangerous as far as i am concerned

From what I've understood this guy is offering to pay the engineer £60 a day, so that he can complete his portfolio.

Desperate!

8 Jobs...........no way! you can't be competent after doing that amount of jobs.
I thought a 9 month British Gas Apprenticeship was pushing it.

So what in youre mind is to say that youre adequately equiped ie : competant. 20 - 200 ?

Hey,gone are the days of apprentiships, make good tea and get to know how to carry a ladder safely.

Desperate maybe, yes, but you gotta move with the times.

apprentice no but no way is someone a competent engineer after eight jobs your barely at crawling stage by then

Agreed 8 jobs is just daft.

After 8 years in the trade I am still learning more and more everyday.

That cant be for a ACS portfolio, its a minimum of around 28 weeks on C/H, 18 on Fires, 10 for cookers and water heaters. And thats weeks, not job.

I think someone has hit a sore point with you old guys. your time is now up move over for the young one. He doing a NVQ2 which is on site training and in collage thats why he needs the extra to complete his portfoilo. Give him a break.

No, they are right.
When I had done the first 8 jobs I was just getting a vague idea of how different systems worked.

120 installs later and I am still learning a lot but am much more confident and definately safe to tackle different types of install and conversion.

8 jobs is a crazy low amount. fact!

Yes you are right dont mean to be rude so sorry about that Its just we need a chance to get some on site training its just a min to show we are safe then we can learn more as we do more.
