Good evening,
On a semi-gravity solid-fuel system for domestic hot water and central heating. Can the circulating pump go anywhere on the flow of the heating circuit?

Thanks

Lenny

Hi! Lenny,

Insted of me going into long explanations, try Googling J.Mac pump tool. Its got a lot of the info you seem to want and a lot more beside.

Good Fortune

didnt reply to this as im unsure what you mean by semi gravity explain if you mean gravity not water and pumped heating then the pump can go anywhere in the meating circuitits normally in the return bear the boiler as this is the easyist place usually for wiring as it must be fed from the same spur as the boiler

Hi! Steve,

I could not make out quite what he wanted either, so referred him to that site. I assume, but don't know, that he may mean gravity Primaries and pumped heating.

and i didnt reply, because i didnt wish to advise somebody who dosn't know where to place a pump on a system, then you really shouldn't be playing with solid fuel.
i did like bernies very clever answer tho, and shall advise the same next time.

Sorry guys if you have not understood my question, I have installed 3 wood boiler stove hot water and central heating systems this year and they all work a treat. On all 3 systems I have installed the pump not too far away from the boiler as illustrated in the manuals.

The question I had is does the pump need to be close to the boiler as per all the manuals or can it be installed anywhere on the pumped circuit.

thanks
