Hi all. This ‘valve’ is at the bottom of our domestic hot water cylinder.
Anyone have any idea what it is please? It must’ve been there for many years and seems to be leaking.

Would say a thermal valve for gravity heating of the cylinder eg closes the return off when it reaches x temp to save overheating of the water

The valve might actually be alright? But one of those things that you replace anyway as the pipes around it have gone so probably been in at least as long as the pipes. (Not a plumber myself so don't listen to me!)
